Commission for East Midlands Arts Loughborough 1997. Collaboration between Chris Campbell and Charlie Downs from Campbell design & engineering Ltd, Mountfields Junior school (year 4's) and myself. Chris was looking to bring a quality of movement to the gates and asked me run a few workshops. Exploring the movement of the elements we took it in turn to move and draw. This was a new experience for the group - not your average still life. I invited us to play with and feel for shapes, patterns and energy in new and unexpected ways - no wrong or right. I checked in that we knew what 'energy' was - everyones hands shot up "Miss it's orange, it comes in a bottle and it's called Lucazade!" "Yes" I replied having a chuckle to myself "that's one form of energy" I explained others and they all entered into the spirit of the quest.
